Pawlee mobile app

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 14, 2026

1. Overview

This policy explains what information may be processed when you use the Pawlee mobile application (the “App”) — a service for managing pet profiles, care and nutrition journals, documents, reminders, and related features. By installing or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read this notice.

2. Information we process

Depending on how you use the App, we or our service providers may process:

  • Account data — for example, a user identifier and technical authentication tokens associated with sign-in.
  • Pet-related information — details you voluntarily add, such as names, dates, health and care notes, diary entries, reminders, and other profile content.
  • Files and images — photos, document scans, or other files you upload in documents or profile features, chosen through the system file picker or captured with the camera after you grant permission where required.
  • Usage and diagnostics — pseudonymous or aggregated data to maintain reliability and improve the product (see Third-party services).

3. Purposes of processing

  • provide App features (pet profile, diaries, calendar, documents);
  • sync information across devices and backend services when you are signed in;
  • deliver local reminders if you enable notifications and relevant system permissions;
  • maintain security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot crashes and errors, meet legal obligations.

4. Device permissions

The App requests access to Android features only where needed for the described capabilities:

  • Internet — to communicate with servers and services required for core functionality.
  • Camera — to scan QR codes and, where offered, to take pictures when you choose to do so; capture does not occur without your explicit action.
  • Notifications — for scheduled local reminders when you opt in via system settings.
  • Storage (older Android versions) — to keep file-selection flows reliable on legacy devices; on recent Android releases, access is typically scoped via the system documents / photo picker rather than blanket storage access.
  • Boot completed / exact alarm–related signals — technical capabilities so deferred reminders reschedule correctly after reboot where the OS requires them.

5. Third-party services

The App may use SDKs or cloud offerings from Google, including for analytics and crash reporting (for example Firebase). Those providers process certain data under their own privacy notices. You may wish to review Google’s documentation for Firebase, Google Analytics, and Crashlytics in addition to Google Play policies.

6. Retention and security

We apply measures common for consumer mobile apps — such as encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and data minimization. Retention periods depend on providing the service and legal requirements; some data is deleted or de-identified when no longer necessary or after account deletion where technically feasible and not prohibited by law.

7. International transfers

If backend or vendor infrastructure is used, information may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence, subject to the safeguards and contractual terms of those providers.

8. Your rights

Where applicable law grants rights, you may request access to, correction of, restriction or deletion of personal information (including account deletion where the App offers it), or withdraw consent for optional processing that relies on consent. Use the contact details below to exercise those rights, or submit a deletion request at /delete-account.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will remain available at this URL. Material changes may be communicated through the App or other reasonable channels.
